Well, that didn’t take long. One week after releasing iOS 10 and watchOS 3 to the public, Apple has unleashed new beta releases for both platforms.
iOS 10.1 beta 1 is now available to registered iOS developers, as is watchOS 3.1 beta 1. Both updates are available for download from Apple’s Developer Center. As of this writing, the updates don’t appear to be available to public testers in the Apple Beta Software Program.
As for what’s included, the iOS 10.1 beta 1 update likely includes bug fixes to squash the issues that’ve been discovered with iOS 10 since its release last week. The update also includes Portrait Mode, the iPhone 7 Plus feature that blurs the background of a photo, giving it a bokeh effect. You can see the feature in action over at TechCrunch.
As with previous betas, expect at least a few more weeks of iOS 10.1 and watchOS 3.1 beta releases before the updates are released to the public.
