Starting today, you can cram more stuff into your tweets.
Twitter is now excluding photos, videos, GIFs, polls, and Quote Tweets from the 140-character limit of a tweet. This leaves more room for you write words in your tweet when attaching a photo, video, or other media.

This feature is rolling out now, so you should see it take effect shortly.
While this feature won’t let you make your tweets however long you want, it will let you write up to 140 characters, even if you’re attaching media to your tweet. This is a smart move by Twitter because it means that people will be able to share photos and videos of what they’re doing without being afraid that they’ll run out of space to actually write words.
