Another day, another 2016 Nexus phone leak.
The latest report regarding Google’s new Nexus phones is focused on where they’ll be sold. Evan Blass claims that the two Nexus handsets will be offered by Verizon in the U.S.
One detail to note is that Blass put the Nexus name in quotes when referring to them. This could mean that the phones could include Verizon branding and/or preinstalled apps, which could lead some folks to think of the phones as not being “true” Nexuses.

The upside to Verizon carrying these Nexus phones is that they’ll be exposed to more consumers than they would be if Verizon weren’t selling them. Verizon is a major U.S. carrier, and while buying phones direct from the manufacturer does seem to be getting more popular in the U.S., most consumers still get their new phones from their carrier.
There’s still no word on when the new Nexus phones might go on sale, but if recent Nexus launches are any indication, the 2016 Nexus handsets could launch sometime between late September and late October.
