T-Mobile customers that’ve been playing Pokémon Go but have been fretting about using up all their data to expand their Pokédex will soon have nothing to worry about.
T-Mobile has announced that for the next T-Mobile Tuesday, which takes place on July 19, it will give its customers unlimited Pokémon Go data for a full year. If you take advantage of the gift on July 19 or any of the T-Mobile Tuesdays through August 9, you’ll get free unlimited Pokémon Go data through August 2017.
T-Mo will also be giving away Pokémon Go prizes next Tuesday. Two hundred and fifty people will win $100 worth of PokéCoins, which you can use to buy in-game items like lures and Poké Balls, while five people will win a trip anywhere in the U.S. for themselves and a guest to play Pokémon Go.
In addition to the Pokémon Go-related goodies, the July 19 edition of T-Mobile Tuesdays will include a $15 Lyft credit, a free small Wendy’s Frosty, and 50 percent off select accessories at T-Mobile stores. T-Mo specifically calls out battery packs and chargers as two of the accessory types that’ll be on sale, which will help any Pokémon Go player juice back up after an extending hunt.
Pokémon Go is a huge craze right now, with millions and millions of Android and iPhone users venturing into the wild to capture Pikachus, Charizards, and Jigglypuffs. Capitalizing on the craze with an unlimited data offer is smart of T-Mobile, and by making the offer available for a few weeks, T-Mo may convince some consumers to switch to its network, too.
