There are still a lot of devices out there waiting for their Android 6.0 update, but Marshmallow is steadily making its way to more phones and tablets, and today we can add a few more to the list of devices that’ve gotten the update.
Sony has started pushing Android 6.0.1 to select versions of the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, and Xperia Z3 Compact. That’s according to Xperia Blog, who says that the D6503 version of the Xperia Z2, D6603 version of the Xperia Z3, and D5803 version of the Xperia Z3 Compact.
The updates include the usual Marshmallow features like Google Now on Tap and improved permissions, as well as the February Android security patches. Also included is a refreshed Camera 2.0.0 interface, which lets you swipe between camera modes like video or manual and also offers sliders to alter settings like brightness. Sony pushed Android 6.0 to the Xperia Z5, Z4 Tablet, and Z3+ last month, and now the company is moving to some of its older Xperia devices. The Xperia Z2 made its debut way back in early 2014, and two years after its unveiling, it’s getting updated to Android 6.0. It’s good to see Sony supporting older hardware, and I’m sure anyone that’s still rocking a Z2 is pretty excited to be getting bumped up to the latest version of Android.
