Along with its new P9 and P9 Plus flagship Android phones, Huawei today also took the wraps off of a new wearable device.
The Huawei TalkBand B3 is a new wearable with a curved 80x128 PMOLED display and Gorilla Glass. The TalkBand B3 uses Bluetooth to sync with an Android or iOS smartphone and also handle calls, and like the TalkBand B1 and B2 before it, you can pop the screen out and use it as a Bluetooth headset.
The TalkBand B3 also lets you track your activities and sleep quality and offers a 91mAh battery that’s good for three to four days of “typical working time.” All of those features are wrapped in a body that’s IP57 rated for resistance to dust and water.
Huawei plans to offer the TalkBand B3 in three different versions: Active for €169 ($192 USD), Classic for €199 ($226 USD), and Elite for €249 ($283 USD). The priciest model offers a strap made with stainless steel, the mid-range versions have leather straps, and the entry level models appear to have rubberized straps.
The TalkBand B3 offers a sleeker design than its predecessor, offering a display housing that’s more round and looks more like a bracelet. This could make the TalkBand B3 attractive to folks that want a minimal wearable device that’s a bit smarter than a Fitbit or Jawbone. Huawei isn’t saying when the TalkBand B3 will launch, so if you’re interested in a minimal wearable device, stay tuned.
