DROID Turbo 2 owners, it looks like you may finally soon taste Marshmallow.
Verizon has updated its DROID Turbo 2 support page with info on an update to Android 6.0. Included in the list of all the goodies that you’d expect to get with a bump to Marshmallow, like Google Now on Tap and improved app permissions, as well as “the latest security patches.”
According to Verizon, the Turbo 2’s Android 6.0 update will be split into two updates, with the latter leaving the device on software version 24.14.10. As for when it’ll arrive, Verizon’s “Advanced Devices Software Updates” page lists the Turbo 2’s latest update as arriving tomorrow, March 1, so Turbo 2 owners should start getting Marshmallow tomorrow.
The DROID Turbo 2 is a recent Motorola flagship, and Moto said back in October that the Turbo 2 would be getting Android 6.0. That said, the original DROID Turbo went through a bit of update controversy, with owners left waiting a long time for a Lollipop update after the device’s Android 5.0 update was skipped. So the news that the Turbo 2 will be getting Marshmallow tomorrow without too much fuss is welcome news. Here’s to hoping that there are no last-second snags.
