Alcatel’s Idol 4S and Idol 4 were made official at MWC last month, but they’re not expected to arrive until this summer. If you’re looking for a solid, affordable phone right now, take a look at the Idol 3.
Amazon is now selling the 5.5-inch Alcatel Idol 3 for $179.99, a full $100 off of its list price. The device is new, comes unlocked, and is in stock and ready for free two-day shipping for Amazon Prime members. If you’d prefer a phone that’s a bit smaller, the 4.7-inch version of the Idol 3 is being sold by Amazon for $169.99.
The Idol 3 may have recently been surpassed by the Idol 4S as the flagship in Alcatel’s smartphone lineup, but it’s still a solid phone with a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, 13-megapixel camera, and dual front-facing speakers. And at $179.99, it’s perhaps the best affordable Android phone you can get, rivaling that $200 Moto G (3rd Gen.) deal that’s also going on right now.
There’s no word on how long this Idol 3 deal will last, so if you’re thinking about pulling the trigger, you should decide quickly. For more info on the Idol 3, check out videos that show off both the 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch models.
