Google frequently adds new features to its Android apps on Wednesdays, and that’s precisely what’s happening with Gmail for Android today.
Google is adding two new features to its Gmail app for Android devices. First up is rich text formatting, which will let you bold, italicize, color, and highlight text in your email from within the mobile app. You can check out examples of what these formatting options look like below.
The other new feature being added to Android’s Gmail app is Instant RSVPs. Google Calendar and Microsoft Exchange users will be able to respond to calendar invitations from within an email message. With one tap, you’ll be able to see your schedule and then respond to the invitation that was sent to you.
With the addition of rich text formatting, you can more easily emphasize a word or words in your message, while Instant RSVPs make it easy and quick to see if you can attend an event and then respond to that invitation, all without leaving the Gmail app. These features should hit Gmail for Android soon, so keep an eye out for an update.
