OnePlus fans, we’ve now got an idea of when you’ll be getting a new flagship phone.
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has revealed to CNET that the OnePlus 3 will debut “at the end of the second quarter.” The second quarter ends in June. Unsurprisingly, Pei didn’t reveal many details of the OnePlus 3, but he did say that the device will feature a “new design.” He added that he hopes that the OnePlus 3 will “captivate” consumers as much as the OnePlus One.
Pei also confirmed that the OnePlus 3 be sold unlocked in the US and other markets and that it’ll be sold directly by OnePlus, similar to past devices. He added that OnePlus plans to offer a “better buying process,” but he didn’t elaborate on what that means.
OnePlus has caught a lot of flak in the past for questionable marketing tactics and the invitation-based buying process that it’s used when it launches new phones. Despite all of that, though, OnePlus seems to be doing well for itself, as it’s got a new flagship coming in a few months. And while we don’t know much about the new device quite yet, I’d bet that it’ll be another “affordable flagship”-style device, just like the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 before it.
What do you want to see from the OnePlus 3?
