Following LG’s G5 tease earlier this month, Qualcomm has decided to get in on the flagship Android smartphone teasing, too.
Qualcomm today sent out a tweet that reads “Don’t miss a whole new way to play with @LGUSAMobile and #Snapdragon820—coming February 21.” Attached to the tweet is a GIF of a toy robot similar to the one used by LG in its “LG G5 Day” teaser from earlier this month.
Qualcomm’s tweet suggests that the LG G5 will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 820 processor. That likely won’t be made official until LG introduces the G5 on February 21, but such a combination would make sense. The G5 is LG’s newest flagship Android smartphone, and the Snapdragon 820 is Qualcomm’s new flagship processor. The rumor mill has suggested that the LG G5 will include the Snapdragon 820 as well, and so with today’s tweet, it seems all but confirmed that the SD820 will power LG’s next big Android phone.
