Last year, Instagram tested multiple account support in its Android app, allowing users to quickly switch between accounts without constantly signing in and out. Now that feature is in testing on iOS, too.
Multiple account support is now appearing on the iOS version of Instagram for some users. Unfortunately, getting the feature isn’t as simple as updating to the newest version of the app. It appears to be a switch flipped by Instagram, and only select users have had their switches flipped.
To check if multiple account support is enabled for you, head into the Options section of Instagram and scroll to the bottom. If you have the feature, you’ll see an “Add Account” button below the “Clear Search History” button.
With multiple account support first appearing on Android and now on iOS, it looks like Instagram is testing out the feature in both of its apps before rolling it out to everyone. While it’s not something that every person will take advantage of, folks that have a personal Instagram account and then another for work, their pet, or something else will surely appreciate not having to log in and out of accounts all the time.
Here’s to hoping that all of this testing comes to an end soon and that the full push will follow.
