Feel like Samsung’s Gear S2 Classic isn’t quite blingy enough for your tastes? If so, you’ll be pleased to know that Samsung has blinged up its new smartwatch.
Samsung today revealed new versions of the Gear S2 Classic in 18k Rose Gold and Platinum. These versions are largely the same as the Gear S2 Classic that was shown in 2015, but they’re a bit more fashionable that that model. Samsung does note that these new versions will include NFC support for Samsung Pay, which will also be available to US-based Gear S2 users in early 2016.
The new 18k Rose Gold and Platinum versions will launch in February, but Samsung isn’t yet saying how much they’ll cost.
Gold hardware has been a pretty hot trend in mobile over the past couple of years, and with the launch of the Rose Gold iPhone 6s, consumers have shown interest in pinkish gold devices as well. As a result, Samsung has crafted a Rose Gold version of its new smartwatch, which should appeal to Android folks that want to get in on the Rose Gold fun as well as those that are in the market for a fashionable smartwatch.
