OnePlus sells a quite a few accessories for its phones, including screen protectors and cases. Today OnePlus is launching another case, but this one is meant to be used with a phone that it doesn’t even sell.
The OnePlus Sandstone Case is a new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s case. Yes, the company that makes Android phones is now offering an iPhone case. OnePlus explains that it’s making an iPhone case to “show them what they’re missing” with OnePlus hardware and the Sandstone Black finish. The OnePlus Sandstone Case is a polycarbonate cover that has a finish resembling sandpaper, which is meant to add grippiness to your device.
One other thing that’s notable about the OnePlus Sandstone Case for iPhone is that each one includes an invite to buy the OnePlus X, the company’s newest Android phone. So while other folks are waiting in line to receive an invite in their email, you can buy this case and guarantee yourself an invite. OnePlus says that some invites included with the Sandstone Case for iPhone will be good for a limited ceramic OnePlus X or even a free phone.
The OnePlus Sandstone Case for iPhone is now available for $19.99. It’s kind of weird to see an Android phone maker selling an iPhone case, but OnePlus is no stranger to unique PR stunts. Just keep in mind that if you take advantage of the OnePlus X invite that’s included with the iPhone case, you’ll need to buy another Sandstone case for the X if you want more of that texture in your life
