UPDATE: The Google Play home page now lists a 60-day free trial of Google Play Music instead of the 3 months for $1 deal. Bummer.
If you’re looking for some new content to entertain you this holiday weekend, Google is happy to help.
Google Play has kicked off a Cyber Weekend sale that includes big discounts on apps, games, music, movies, and more. Perhaps the most notable offer is a 3-month subscription to Google Play Music — which includes YouTube Red — for $1. The offer is likely only valid for new subscribers, and even though I am, I keep getting errors when trying to sign up for this deal. If you have success redeeming the promo, let us know.
For games, Google is offering solid deals on titles like Leo’s Fortune, as well as half off big name RPGs like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. There are also sales on apps like Moon+ Reader Pro, music from Fetty Wap and Fleetwood Mac, and movies like John Wick (a pretty awesome movie), Mad Max: Fury Road (also good), and San Andreas (never seen this one). There are also sales on TV shows like Game of Thrones, books, 99 cent magazines, and a special section for discounted family games.
This is a pretty large sale, so most folks should be able to find at least one or two things that they’re interested in buying. The good news is that since this is a Cyber Weekend sale, you should have a few days to browse and buy if you can’t get to Google Play right now. Hooray for unlimited digital goods that don’t require you to wait in line!
