HTC’s One family of phones is growing again, this time with the addition of the HTC One M9(s).
The HTC One M9(s) looks like HTC’s flagship One M9, but it’s not quite as high-end as the M9. The M9(s) is packing an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage that can be expanded upon with a microSD card. The M9(s)’s rear camera is a 13-megapixel shooter with optical image stabilization, and the front of the unit is home to a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera as well as BoomSound speakers. Also included is a 2840mAh battery, NFC, and a 5-inch 1920x1080 display.
Pricing for the One M9(s) is set at NT$12,900, or approximately $394 USD, and the phone is now available for pre-order from HTC. The device looks to be a cheaper alternative to the One M9 that retains the flagship phone’s design and front-facing BoomSound speakers for $183 less than the One M9. The One M9(s) is also a smidge cheaper than the One A9, coming in at a price that’s around $60 less than HTC’s One A9. So for folks in Taiwan looking for an affordable device with the stylings of a flagship, the One M9(s) may be worth a look.
