BlackBerry has remained pretty quiet about the Priv’s spec list and price ever since it confirmed the phone at the tail-end of September, but today it looks like the company has broken its silence.
The BlackBerry Priv had its own product page on Shop BlackBerry, BlackBerry’s official online store, though it . The page confirmed the Priv’s full list of specs, which looks like this:
As for pricing? BlackBerry is (or was) asking $749.00 for its Android phone. The Priv’s product page said that orders will begin shipping on November 16.
BlackBerry has priced the Priv as a flagship device, putting it at or above the best of what Android and iOS have to offer. That full $749 price will be a tough pill to swallow for a lot of folks, but luckily for them and for BlackBerry, the phone is rumored to be coming to all four US carriers. If true, that means that most US consumers will be able to get the Priv on an installment plan or a two-year contract, which will in turn make it easier to pay for. That leaves BlackBerry with the job to convince consumers why they should pick the Priv over competitors like the Galaxy S6, Note 5, iPhone 6s, and others. We'll just have to wait and see if that's something that BlackBerry can accomplish.
