Following the reopening of the US embassy in Cuba last month, Verizon has announced plans to support international roaming on the island nation.
Starting next week, Verizon customers that plan to travel to Cuba can sign up for their carrier’s Pay As you Go International Travel plan to stay connected while in Cuba. While you’re there, you’ll pay $2.99 per minute for calls and $2.05 per megabyte for data. When it comes to messaging, you’ll pay 50 cents to send a text or 5 cents to receive while, while each MMS sent or received will cost 25 cents.
Obviously Verizon’s roaming prices for Canada are a bit pricey, but typically international roaming isn’t cheap. If you’re a Verizon customer that’s planning to head to Cuba, though, at least now you’ve got this roaming plan option.
