Earlier this year, Olio Devices introduced a new smartwatch that was made of stainless steel and included support for both Android and iOS. The Olio Model One was a handsome device, and apparently others thought so too, because the initial batch of watches sold out. In response to the Model One’s popularity, Olio is introducing some new limited edition Model One watches.
The second batch of Olio Model One smartwatches is now available in both the steel and black colors that debuted earlier this year, as well as new gold and rose gold models. The new gold models are ion-plated with either 24 karat gold or 18 karat rose gold.
Olio says that the second batch of Model One watches will include 500 units each of the steel and black versions, as well as 100 each of the gold and rose gold units. Pricing for the watches will be start at $595 for the steel unit with a leather band, $745 for the black case with a leather band, or $1195 for one of the gold watches with a leather band. If you’d prefer to step up to a stainless steel band, the silver model will cost $645, the black one will be $795, and the gold watches will cost $1395. However, Olio is extending its $250 Friends and Family Discount to everyone for a “limited time.”
Olio’s Model One is an attractive smartwatch with quality materials and a round face that’s reminiscent of analog watches. And with its custom software, the Olio Model One is compatible with Android 4.3 or higher and iOS 8 and higher, which means that you needn’t worry about switching smartwatches if you decide to switch between those smartphone platforms. Obviously the Model One is a bit pricier than smartwatch offerings from Apple, Google, and Pebble, but if you’re on the hunt for a smartwatch that’s got a bit more of a luxury style, the Model One is there.
