The past month or so has brought us leaked images of what may be the next generation Moto X and Moto G, and now the rumor mill may be giving us a peek at a new Motorola DROID device too.
HellomotoHK has shared an image of the rear shell of a device that’s said to be a new DROID phone. The device has a pattern that’d look right at home on a DROID device, and there’s also a metal strip on the shell that looks like it could house a camera, flash, and Motorola dimple. There’s also a metal ring around the outside edge of the shell.
The metal housing on the back of this alleged DROID shell looks similar to the metal strip that we saw in the Moto G (2015) leaks, and it appears that the new Moto X will have a metal strip on its rear as well. That looks to be part of the design language of Motorola’s 2015 hardware. There’s not much else that we can glean about this mysterious phone from today’s leak, but it definitely looks like Verizon customers have a new DROID in their future.
