Time for another update, Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview users.
Microsoft says that it’s now pushing Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 10166 to users in the Fast ring. There are a lot of bug fixes in this update, including ones for most of the issues in build 10149, which was pushed out in June. Also included are fixes for a bug that would cause the post-upgrade migration screen to go missing, a fix to make colors appear correctly (like the title bar of Outlook Mail), and better reliability for downloading apps and updates from Windows Store.
There are also a few other, non-bug tweaks included in this update. For example, Microsoft has removed the Beta tag from the new version of the Windows Store and has removed the old shop. The Redmond firm also increased the size of the battery icon to make it easier to read.
While there may not be any huge new user-facing features found in today’s update, it sounds like there are quite a few bug fixes that should improve usability. That’s important for Microsoft as it continues to make Windows 10 Mobile better in the months leading up to the public release.
If you’re a Windows Insider, hit up the Phone Update portion of your Settings app to see if build 10166 is waiting there for you.
