Ever been at your computer looking up places to go for dinner when you find the perfect spot, get directions, grab your keys, and then you get in your car only to realize that you’ve got to look up the directions again on your phone? Well that won’t happen any more for you Android users.
Google Maps on the desktop will now let you send directions from your computer to your Android device. Simply look up a location on your computer, then click the “Send to device” button below the location and hour info of the place. You can then push the info to your phone or tablet, complete with a notification that’ll let you click the location for more info about the place and buttons for starting navigation or viewing the directions.
In order for this feature to work, you’ll need the latest version of Google Maps (v9.11.0) installed on your Android phone or tablet. If you don’t have it yet, hit up Google Play or get it from APK Mirror.
This is a pretty handy feature that can make finding a location and navigating to it easier. No matter how big your phone is, it’s likely still going to be easier to find a place on your desktop or laptop, and now you can just beam that location info to your Android phone once you do find it. It’s also a nice touch that Google gives you a few different things to do with that place once it’s beamed to your Android phone.
