One day after a rumor suggested that the BlackBerry Venice is headed to AT&T, an image of the BlackBerry-made Android slider has leaked.
Evan Blass, the source of yesterday’s Venice-to-AT&T rumor, today posted an image of the BlackBerry Venice running Android Lollipop. The phone’s screen has curved edges on its sides, a microUSB port and headphone jack on its bottom, and some dots beneath the display that could be a speaker.
BlackBerry gave us a brief glimpse of a slider phone at MWC 2015 in February (shown above), and while it’s tough to make out too many details about the device in that photo, it and this BlackBerry Venice do look fairly similar.
This Android-powered BlackBerry slider is rumored to be coming in August, and based on this leaked image, it looks pretty nice. Obviously we’ll have to wait until this thing is official before making any judgments, but one thing that’s for sure is that if the Venice does indeed launch, its combination of having slider form factor, a physical keyboard, and Android software on BlackBerry hardware will definitely get it some attention.
What do you think of this BlackBerry Venice?
