If you’re interested in Android gaming, you’ve now got another option for enjoying games on your TV and your phone.
The Razer Forge TV Gaming Bundle is now live on the Google Store, offering a a Micro-Console and Serval Controller for $149.99. You can also buy the Serval Controller on its own for $79.99.
When it comes to specs, the Razer Forge TV Micro-Console runs Android TV (Android 5.0), measures 104.9 x 104.9 x 17.02mm, and weighs 240.4g. Included is a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU, Bluetooth 4.1, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, Google Cast, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2x2, and 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. Razer is also touting a feature called Razer Cortex: Stream that lets you stream games from your PC to your Razer Forge TV Micro-Console.
Meanwhile, the Serval Controller is powered by 2 AA batteries and includes a detachable phone clip for giving you a place to put your handset when you’re gaming on the smaller screen.
While the Razer Forge TV Gaming Bundle is a bit pricier than Google’s Nexus Player, there’s a reason for the price difference. Not only does the Razer Forge TV Gaming Bundle offer beefier specs than the Nexus Player — including double the RAM and double the internal storage — but the Razer Forge TV Gaming Bundle also includes a controller. The $79.99 Nexus Player that’s on the Google Store doesn’t have a controller, which will cost you an extra $39.99. Between the Nexus Player and the NVIDIA SHIELD console, the Razer Forge TV Gaming Bundle looks to slot into the mid-range area of Android TV-based set-top consoles.
