OnePlus has said that the OnePlus 2 will be sold using an invitation system like the OnePlus One, but that’s not the only thing that the OnePlus 2 is borrowing from its predecessor.
OnePlus today revealed the first spec detail of the OnePlus 2, just like how it used a spec-by-spec reveal method with the OnePlus One. Inside of the OnePlus 2 will be a Snapdragon 810, and before you can say the word “overheat,” OnePlus has a response for you. The company says that it’s worked with Qualcomm to use a new v2.1 version of the Snapdragon 810 in the OnePlus 2 and also fine-tuned both the phone’s hardware and software.
The Snapdragon 810 is currently the high-end processor du jour, and so I’m sure that anyone interested in the OnePlus 2 is glad to hear that the 810 will be powering OnePlus’s next smartphone. And while the Snapdragon 810 may not be quite as fresh and new when the OnePlus 2 launches in Q3 2015, it’ll still be a capable processor, especially if the OnePlus 2 ends up being priced similarly to the OnePlus One when it launched ($299 for 16GB/$349 for 64GB).
What other features do you hope to see included with the OnePlus 2?
