Verizon’s Edge payment program is undergoing a change later this month that’ll allow customers to upgrade even more frequently.
Starting May 31, Verizon Edge customers will be able to upgrade any time they’d like so long as their previous Edge device is paid in full. Under the current program rules, Edge customers must wait 30 days after getting their phone and also must have paid at least 75 percent of their device. When Verizon Edge originally launched in 2013, customers could upgrade every six months after paying for at least half of their device.
With this new tweak, Verizon Edge becomes a bit easier to understand. Now you can upgrade whenever you want so long as your current phone is paid off. And hey, if you want to buy a phone and pay it off, but then you decide that you want to switch to a new phone a few weeks later, you’ll soon be able to do just that.
