Tomorrow’s the day that the Apple Watch will begin to hit our wrists, and to prepare for its arrival, Apple has flipped the switch on its App Store for the Apple Watch.
If you open up the Apple Watch app that was put onto your iPhone with the iOS 8.2 update, you can now navigate to the App Store tab and view apps that are ready for use on the Apple Watch. The entries include screenshots of the apps for both the Apple Watch and the iPhone, but they mostly look the same as their regular App Store counterparts. Apple has also curated several Apple Watch app sections for things like Family, Work, and Travel.
In addition to activating the Apple Watch App Store, Apple is now including “Offers Apple Watch App” mentions to its regular App Store. If you go to the listing of an app that has Apple Watch support, you’ll see an “Offers Apple Watch App” caption beneath its main app icon.
While most new Apple Watch owners are sure to have at least a couple of apps with Apple Watch support already installed on their iPhones, I’m sure that many of them will want to check out multiple apps to see what their Apple Watch capabilities are like. Apple has made this easy with both the dedicated App Store for Apple Watch apps as well as alerts in the regular App Store that an Apple Watch app is available for a corresponding app.
If you ordered an Apple Watch, is it scheduled to arrive tomorrow?
