Today’s update Wednesday, but the big news isn’t about an Android app update that’s coming out. Instead, we’re focusing on a totally new Google app.

Google Handwriting Keyboard is now available for download from the Play Store. As its name suggests, the app is an add-on keyboard that lets you scribble words, and then the keyboard will try to recognize what you’re trying to say. The app supports 82 languages, printed and cursive type, and even “hundreds” of emojis.

Google’s new handwriting app works on Android phones and tablets that are running Android 4.0.3 or higher. Google says that if you think your handwriting is bad, you should try the app to see if it can prove otherwise, and in my brief time with it so far, the app seems pretty good at recognizing both cursive and printed words that were drawn with my finger.
