Google’s already got a few ways for you to locate your lost phone, letting you use Android Device Manager on the web, on a mobile device, or on your Android Wear smartwatch. Now it’s supplying one more way to find your Android smartphone or tablet.
You can now navigate to Google on the web and type “find my phone” into the search box to locate your lost Android device. When you do, Google will show you the location of your phone and even give you the option to ring it.
Google says that you’ll need the latest version of the Google app on your Android device in order for this feature to work. When I tried it, Google was able to find my phone’s location within 30 seconds or so, and it started ringing right after I hit the “Ring” button.
This is a pretty cool feature for Google to roll out. As I said before, there’s certainly no shortage of ways for you to locate your lost Android phone, but this new method may be the easiest yet because you just have to access the regular Google site on a computer and type in a short phrase. It’s simple and it works well.
