UPDATE: Turns out that Best Buy is offering similar discounts on the Moto 360, and with BBY you have the option of store pickup, which means that you could get your discounted Moto 360 on your wrist today.
Today’s the big day that the Apple Watch goes up for pre-order and becomes available for try-on in Apple Stores, but that doesn’t mean that there’s no news for Android-toting smartwatch shoppers.
Amazon is hosting a big sale on the Moto 360, offering discounts on several different models of Motorola’s Android Wear watch. Some models, like the black leather and stone leather versions, are marked all the way down to $179. To compare, Motorola is currently asking $249.99 for those same models. If you’d prefer a metal band, Amazon is selling the silver, black, and champagne versions of the Moto 360 for $229. The silver and black versions typically sell for $299.99, while the champagne is usually $329.99.
So yeah, Amazon’s sale on the Moto 360 is pretty awesome. It’s also worth noting that the since these Moto 360s are being sold by Amazon, they’re eligible for free two-day Prime shipping if you’re a member. All in all, these are pretty great deals on an Android Wear smartwatch that many still consider to be one of the best smartwatches that you can buy right now. And hey, if you believe the rumors that Android Wear support for iPhone is nearly complete (and you think that Apple will allow the app in its App Store), this could be a low-cost alternative to the Apple Watch.
If you pick up a discounted Moto 360, be sure to let us know which model you get!
