The OnePlus One DR-1 is official, and while today may be April 1, the drone is a real product.
OnePlus today revealed its “game changer” new product as the DR-1, a small drone with a wingspan of 70mm. And while OnePlus has confirmed that the DR-1 is an April Fools’ day joke, it’s actually a real product too. Since it’s a joke, though, OnePlus only made a “limited quantity” of the $19.99 DR-1 drone that’s already sold out.
The DR-1 has four spinning blades and orientation LEDs that are attached to a bright red body. The DR-1’s 100mAh battery offers around five to eight minutes of flight time and can be recharged in approximately 20 minutes. The drone also includes a white control pad with two sticks that can control lift, direction, speed, tilt, and more.
While the OnePlus “game changer” turned out to be an April Fools’ joke and not some crazy new product, at least OnePlus decided to actually sell the DR-1 and make all of the hype that was built somewhat worth it.
Were any of you able to snag a OnePlus DR-1 drone?
