Like many other mobile companies, Motorola is taking part in April Fools’ Day by announcing the Moto Selfie Stick, a customizable leather stick for taking better selfies. The good news is that Motorola’s got a real offer to go along with its fake product.
Motorola is offering $140 off the price of the unlocked Moto X (2nd Gen.), excluding the Republic Wireless model. That means that you can get a unit for as low as $359.99, and yes, the promo even applies to the new red leather add-on that was recently announced. Motorola’s also offering 30 percent off its accessories with the purchase of a Moto X. Both discounts are only good today, April 1.
New smartphones typically cost $600 or $800 off-contract, so being able to grab a new Moto X (2nd Gen.) — that you get to design, no less — for $359.99 without a commitment is a nice little deal. Note that you’ll pay a $25 premium to give your phone a wood or leather backside, but hey, that’s a small price to give your Moto X a unique feature.
