Bad news, OnePlus One-ers: Following the delay of OnePlus’s OxygenOS rollout, it looks like the One’s second Lollipop update has been delayed too.
OnePlus says that the Android 5.0-based CyanogenMod 12 update for the OnePlus One has been delayed “due to certification issues.” If you recall, that’s the same problem that caused the Lollipop-based OxygenOS update to miss its March launch as well. OnePlus says that everyone is working to fix the issues as soon as possible.
OnePlus originally said that OxygenOS and CM12 would be released before March 27 and March 30, respectively, but obviously both updates have now missed their deadlines. Now that both of the One’s Lollipop updates have hit certification issues, it’s unclear when the phone will be updated to Android 5.0. OnePlus has pledged to share regular updates on both OxygenOS and CM12, though, and the company recently resubmitted a new build of OxygenOS for certification. Here’s to hoping that the new build does better than the last.
