Now that spring has arrived (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), more of you will start going outside and enjoying some activities. And now Best Buy’s got a deal to help you record all of your outdoor shenanigans.
The HTC RE camera is now on sale for $99.99 at Best Buy. That’s $100 off the RE’s standard asking price, and it’s good for the white, red, and blue versions of HTC’s digital camera. Shipping is free, but you also have the option of picking up your RE in a nearby Best Buy store if you want the device today.
The HTC RE has a 16-megapixel camera with a 146-degree wide-angle lens, and it can capture both images and HD video. It’s also waterproof and has digital image stabilization and face detection, so it should be able to stand up to your activities. The device includes an 8GB microSD card for saving your images and video.
The RE camera is compatible with devices running Android 4.3 or higher and iOS 7 or higher. HTC’s got apps on both platforms that’ll let you livestream to YouTube, automatically backup your photos to the cloud, use your phone as a remote viewfinder and control, and share your images.
While HTC’s RE camera is a nice little camera that’s extremely portable, it’s regular $199 asking price might be a bit steep unless you’re in the market for a dedicated action camera for regular activities. At $99, though, it’s nearly an impulse purchase for regular folks that can carry it around as a quick way to capture parts of their everyday lives.
