The Android 5.1 update continues its rollout today, with another Nexus device getting updated to the latest version of Lollipop.
The Android TV-powered Nexus Player is now getting its Android 5.1 update. The update, which weighs in at 180.2MB, bumps the Nexus Player to build LMY47D and includes “new apps and features, as well as improved performance and stability.”
If you’re feeling impatient and don’t feel like waiting for the update to roll out to your Nexus Player, you can manually flash the update using the factory image that was just posted. As with other factory images, though, doing so will wipe your Nexus Player.
While the Nexus Player may not get to use some of the big new Android 5.1 features — like HD Voice and Device Protection — it’s still good to see it getting bumped up to Android 5.1 in a timely manner. After all, even though it may not be on you as much as a smartphone or tablet, it’s still a Nexus device, and so you’d like it to get quick OS updates.
Do any of you have a Nexus Player?
