It’s Wednesday, which is many Android fans’ favorite day of the week since it’s the one that Google typically issues updates to its Android apps. Today’s no different, and the first notable app update that’s appeared is for Hangouts.
The Hangouts app for Android is being updated to version 3.0, bringing with it a handful of small user interface tweaks. Perhaps the biggest change, as discovered by Android Police, is the arrival of updated contact cards that show the profile image, photos, recent interactions, and more from a user’s Google+ profile. The old contact card only showed a photo, contact info, and a website.
This may not sound like a major Hangouts update, but hey, not every update can be a game-changer. What this update does do is bring a few UI tweaks and performance improvements to make the Hangouts app just a bit more enjoyable to use.
