Mobile World Congress is likely going to play host to a number of major smartphone launches, and if a new leak is to be believed, Lenovo will play a major part in the event.
Thai site mxphone [Google Translate] claims to have gotten hold of information on a number of new Android phones that Lenovo may announce at MWC. First up is the Lenovo Vibe Shot [Google Translate], a smartphone whose focus — pun definitely intended — is on taking photos. The Vibe Shot has a backside that looks like a point-and-shoot camera, complete with a 16-megapixel camera that’s got optical image stabilization and triple-tone flash. Also included is a dedicated camera button.
The rest of the Vibe Shot’s spec list is said to include a 5-inch 1920x1080 screen, 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 4G LTE, and Android 5.0. The device also appears to have a metal outer edge.
The next big device coming from Lenovo is the Vibe X3. This premium smartphone’s allegedly got a full-metal body with a rounded backside and stereo speakers on its face that are placed above and below the Vibe X3’s 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display. Also around back is said to be a 20.7-megapixel camera and a fingerprint sensor.
Next up, we’ve got the Lenovo Vibe P1 and Vibe P1 Pro. These two devices are focused on long-lasting batteries, with the P1 allegedly sporting a 4000mAh battery and the P1 Pro packing a 5000mAh juice pack. We’re also told to expect 64-bit octa-core processors, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE, and Android 5.0.
The Lenovo Vibe Max is a bit of a mystery, but the device is said to pack a 6-inch 2560x1440 display, a large battery, and a stylus.
Rounding out the group is the Lenovo Vibe S1, a phone with bright colors that’s reportedly going to be marketed at teenagers, meaning it’ll likely be a lower-end phone.
So there you have it. We’ll have to wait until MWC in March to see if this leak holds true, but if it is, Lenovo’s got itself a wide range of phones for spec hounds and affordability-focused shoppers alike. The Vibe Shot looks like an interesting cameraphone, and I look forward to seeing what kind of photos it can churn out. Meanwhile, the Vibe X3 sounds like a respectable, premium Android phone that could be good for media consumption thanks to its front-facing speakers.
