When Apple announced the Apple Watch in September 2014, it said that the wearable would launch in “early 2015”. Unsurprisingly, the rumor mill has been scrambling to try and predict a more precise launch date since. We still don’t have an exact date, but today Apple’s CEO narrowed that window down a bit.
During Apple’s Q1 FY15 earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the Apple Watch is on schedule and that it’s expected to begin shipping in April.
Pricing for the Apple Watch will start at $349, a price that’ll likely be for the anodized Apple Watch Sport model. The Apple Watch will also be available in a standard Apple Watch stainless steel model and 18 karat gold Apple Watch Edition flavors, the latter of which will likely carry a price that’s considerably higher than $349. The Apple Watch will be available in two sizes: 38mm and 42mm.
