If the Saygus V2 and its crazy spec list piqued your interest when the phone was announced at CES earlier this month, you’ll be glad to hear that some preliminary pre-order and price info has been released.
Saygus says that it’ll continue to take pre-registration info through January 29 at 12:00 pm MT/11:00 am PT/2:00 pm ET. Afterward, Saygus will announce its official pre-order information. Pricing for the V2 is expected to be less than $600.
Saygus also notes that folks that pre-register for information on the Saygus V2 will have the opportunity to get some special discounts and accessories for the device. If you decide to actually drop some cold hard cash on a Saygus V2, you’ll get some limited edition accessories as well.
The Saygus V2 has a feature set that’s an Android spec hound’s dream. It’s got a 5-inch 1920x1080 screen covered by Gorilla Glass 4, a 21-megapixel rear camera, 13-megapixel front-facing shooter, 3GB of RA, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, removable 3100mAh battery, and Qi wireless charging. It’s also got 64GB of built-in storage and two microSDXC slots that can give you a total of 320GB of storage. Oh, and it runs Android 4.4.4 and supports root access out of the box.
Considering that the original Saygus smartphone never really saw much of a release, it’s exciting to see that the V2 might actually reach the hands of the general public. And at a price that’s less than $600, the device could be a pretty good deal considering that it’s fully-loaded smartphone. Now we just have to wait and see how the thing actually performs in the real world.
