Remember that rumor from the other day that claimed that T-Mobile was prepping a new upgrade offering similar to JUMP!? Well it looks like was legit, because T-Mobile just made the program official.
T-Mobile SCORE! will let enrolled customers save money on any of the smartphones that T-Mo sells. The program costs $5 per month, and you’ll get the first benefit after six months in the form of a free entry-level smartphone like the Alcatel Onetouch Evolve 2. After 12 months, you’ll be eligible for a deal on any smartphone T-Mobile sells. For example, the Nexus 6 that normally costs $649.99 will be discounted to $499, and the Galaxy Not 4 that’s normally $749.76 will be reduced to $599.
The SCORE! program is open to every T-Mobile customer, including those on prepaid plans like the Simply Prepaid offerings that T-Mo just introduced.
Like JUMP!, the goal with SCORE! is to help T-Mobile customers upgrade their phones more frequently. SCORE! is cheaper than JUMP!, though, and it has you pay for your device outright rather than spreading the cost out in installments. For those folks that are ok with paying several hundred dollars at once, SCORE! looks like a nice way to get a new phone every year at a discounted price.
