Wondering how the 13-megapixel rear camera found in the HTC One (M8 EYE) compares to the 4-megpixel UltraPixel sensor found in the original HTC One (M8)? So am I. Thankfully, someone has snapped several photos with both and compared the results.
Unleash the Phones has shared several photos taken with both the 13-megapixel camera on the HTC One (M8 EYE) and the UltraPixel shooter found on the One (M8). HTC has explained its decision to use a 4-megapixel UltraPixel sensor by touting its low-light shooting capabilities. The results show that while the UltraPixel cam can indeed hold its own in low-light settings, the One (M8 EYE) produces photos that are much more crisp and vivid.

One (M8 EYE):
Since the One (M8 EYE)’s sensor can produce images with a much higher pixel count than its One (M8) sibling, it’s no surprise to see that it can produce photos that are much sharper. Still, it’s nice to have a comparison laid out in front of us. Unfortunately, HTC has said that the One (M8 EYE)’s release will be limited to countries like India and China, so the device may be tough to come by for many of us.
What do you think of these photos? Do you think that HTC should ditch its UltraPixel sensor in future phones?
