Were you intrigued by this past weekend’s report claiming that a Windows Phone 8.1 version of the HTC One (M8) in in the works? Well I’ve got good news for you, my Live Tile-loving friend, because more details on the device have leaked out tonight.
This purported Windows Phone 8.1-flavored HTC One (M8) reportedly goes by the codenamed “W8” and is expected to be called the “One (M8) for Windows” when it launches to the public. As far as specs go, it’s said that the One (M8) for Windows will include BoomSound front-facing speakers, a Duo Camera and Voice over LTE support, the last of which is a new feature found in Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1.
Perhaps the best news of all, though, is the One (M8) for Windows’s potential launch window. It’s said that the device will hit Verizon during the third quarter, meaning that it should be available before September wraps up. It’s not clear if the One (M8) will hit other carriers as well, but at least Windows Phans on Verizon will finally get their HTC 8X successor in the near future.
Now that more details on this Windows Phone-powered HTC One (M8) have surfaced, are you getting excited for the device?
