The steady stream of Amazon smartphone news continues today with perhaps the biggest leak that we’ve seen to date.
Today BGR has posted what it claims to be is an official image of the upcoming Amazon smartphone. The render, which has reportedly been confirmed as legitimate by several sources, shows both the front and back of the device. The front of the phone features an earpiece and what looks to be a physical button, the back houses a camera and flash and on the bottom is a microUSB port and what is likely the phone’s speaker.
Previous leaks have suggested that the Amazon smartphone will feature a 4.7-inch 720p display, Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera and a second front-facing shooter. Sources have described the device as being “a bit large” but still usable with one hand, especially thanks to Amazon’s tilt-heavy user interface.
This isn’t the first time that we’ve gotten an early peek at Amazon’s oft-rumored smartphone. However, the handset was obscured by a protective case in its first image leak, so this is the first time that we’re getting a clear look at the phone. While the design of this device isn’t particularly mind-blowing, its rounded edges make it look like it ought to be fairly comfortable to use.
