Motorola announced earlier this week that it was planning a special Mother’s Day sale on the no-contract Moto X that’d run on May 1. My calendar tells me that today is May 1, and just as promised, Motorola has discounted its flagship handset.
The no-contract Moto X is now available at a price of $299.99 for the 16GB model and $324.99 for the more capacious 32GB variant. Those of you that like to tinker with your Android devices and load custom ROMs will be pleased to know that the Developer Edition of the Moto X, which features an easily-unlockable bootloader, is on sale as well. Pricing for both the GSM and Verizon variants of the Dev Edition is set at $324.99. The sale will run through tonight at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The Moto X is starting to get a little long in the tooth, having launched back in August 2013. It’s still a pretty respectable Android phone, though, especially at a no-contract price of $299.99. Plus, Motorola has shown that it can be pretty quick with the software and app updates, which makes owning its current flagship device even more enticing.
You can buy the Moto X using the links below. As of this writing, the delivery estimate for Moto Maker orders is set at 8 days, while the Developer Editions could take as long as 7 days to ship. One other thing that’s worth noting is that Motorola says that Moto Maker-ized Moto X orders will receive a free Motorola Skip accessory.
