Following its official debut back at the tail end of February, BlackBerry’s new Z3 has officially gone up for pre-order in Indonesia.
The BlackBerry Z3 is now available for pre-order from Indonesian carriers Indosat and XL, which are offering the device for IDR 2,199,000 ($189 USD). BlackBerry also revealed today that a limited edition version of the Z3, known as the Jakarta Edition, will be available for a limited period of time. This special unit has “Jakarta” inscribed on its backside to celebrate the launch of the first BlackBerry smartphone specifically targeted at Indonesia.
Along with announcing the news of the BlackBerry Z3 pre-orders, BlackBerry has finally given us the full rundown on the Z3’s specs. They are:
BlackBerry previously announced that the Z3 would come to market with a sub-$200 price tag, so it’s no surprise to learn that it’s a fairly entry-level device. Still, it seems like a respectable device for a $189 smartphone, especially since it’s got a 5-inch display and microSD card slot.
The official unveiling of the BlackBerry Z3 is scheduled to go down in Jakarta on May 13. BlackBerry has said that the Z3 will also be launched in North America with LTE connectivity, but there’s no word yet on when that’ll happen or how much that model will cost.
