Around a month after Samsung prematurely outed its new Galaxy Tab4 tablets on its own Gear Fit compatibility page, the company today gave the family of Android-powered slates a proper introduction.
The Galaxy Tab4 series includes the Galaxy Tab4 7.0, Galaxy Tab4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab4 10.1. As their names suggest, the devices sport 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch displays, all of which have a resolution of 1280x800. That screen resolution isn't the only spec that all three models share, as they're also all packing 1.2GHz quad-core processors, 3-megapixel rear cameras, 1.3-megapixel front-facing cameras, 1.5GB of RAM, microSD card slots and Android 4.4 KitKat.
All three models will be available with Wi-Fi and 3G/LTE connectivity. The Galaxy Tab4 7.0 will be offered in Wi-Fi/3G and LTE variants, the Tab4 8.0 will pack Wi-Fi, 3G and LTE connectivity and the Galaxy Tab4 10.1 will be sold in Wi-Fi/3G and LTE versions. Samsung says that the LTE support on its tablet trio includes the 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600MHz bands.
The Galaxy Tab4 family will begin rolling out globally in the second quarter of this year, and when it does, Samsung says that the three slates will be available in both black and white color options. There's no word on how much any of these Android-powered Tabs will cost, but with spec lists that include 1280x800 displays and 3-megapixel rear cameras, I'd bet that they'll be fairly easy on buyers' wallets.
