During its Ask Me Anything session on Reddit earlier today, HTC dropped the news that it intends to support its future flagship Android phones with major updates for two years. That's not the only exciting update news that the company shared today, though, as it also shed some light on its update plans for some of its existing hardware.

First up, HTC confimed that it's currently cooking up Android 4.4 updates for both the One max and One mini. The good news is that those updates are nearly ready to be taken out of the oven, as the Taiwanese firm revealed that the One max's update is expected to begin rolling out as soon as early March, while the One mini's helping of KitKat is slated to be served up in April.

Going back further in HTC's product history, some details regarding the HTC EVO 4G LTE's Android 4.3 update have surfaced. HTC says that because of the EVO 4G LTE's memory partition size limit, it won't be able to push an update to the Sprint-branded handset over the air. Instead, it's planning to offer a different update method that "technical customers" can utilize to update their E4GLTE units on their own.

Details on the EVO 4G LTE update process are still light, but HTC says that it'll be "simple" and that it's planning to start a trial for the update soon. EVO 4G LTE owners that'd like to take part in the testing can contact HTC at HTCTrial@htc.com

HTC has been on a roll with its updates recently, keeping consumers in the loop about the status of testing and releases and also pushing out updates to the One in a timely fashion. The company has been criticized for some of its decisions with regards to ending major update support for devices like the One S, but it appears that HTC is working to do better with its more recent devices. That could help it to win over more consumers, something that's important considering how bumpy HTC's 2013 was.
