The Sony D6503 "Sirius" has appeared in a number of leaks in recent months, but as one might expect, that's not the only new Android smartphone that Sony's got in the pipeline. Today we're getting a look at what may be another handset being cooked up by Sony that's currently being referred to as the "Xperia G."

Twitter account @vizileaks, which has been responsible for some accurate leaks in the past, recently shared a couple of images of a mysterious smartphone that's said to be the Xperia G. The device features a rear camera that's located in the center of the phone's backside rather than in the corner like other Sony smartphones. We can also see an LED flash, NFC logo and what looks to be an uncovered microUSB port on the side.

Some alleged Xperia G spec details were leaked alongside these photos. The unannounced Xperia is said to be packing a 4.8-inch display on its face and an 8-megapixel shooter on its backside. Reportedly packed inside of that OmniBalance body is 8GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE connectivity.

There are still some Xperia G spec details that are missing, like its processor and screen resolution, but so far this device is shaping up to be a mid-range addition to Sony's Xperia lineup. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though; with an OmniBalance design and a (hopefully) recent version of Android, the Xperia G could offer an experience similar to Sony's high-end hardware in a more affordable package. Here's to hoping that Sony brings the G with it to Mobile World Congress later this month so that we don't have to wait long to get the rundown on what makes it tick.
