A little over a month after announcing plans to host its very first developer-focused event, Samsung today officially opened registration for its upcoming Developer Conference. The gathering will take place from Oct. 27-29 at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, Calif., and Samsung revealed today that tickets to its shindig will be priced at $299 each. In exchange for their hard-earned cash, developers will have access to a variety of keynotes and working sessions as well as an event open exclusively to developers during the evening of Oct. 28.

During its three-day span, the Samsung Developer Conference will feature more than 40 industry and technical sessions, and Samsung has said that it plans to unwrap several new SDKs and tools for devs to sink their teeth into. Topics of discussion during the show will include SDKs and tools for the S Pen and other features, services APIs for things like ChatON and Group Play, special B2B-focused sessions and development opportunities in gaming and other categories.

Samsung is the latest mobile company to launch a developer event of its very own, joining the likes of Apple with its Worldwide Developers Conference and Google's I/O. The price of entry for Samsung's shindig is quite a bit lower than some of the other events that go on during the year, though, giving a broader range of devs the opportunity to rub shoulders with their colleagues and gain some knowledge at the same time.
