MT PLEASANT, SC – July 14, 2013 – For 71 weeks, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has been the gold standard for ranking the best smartphones on the market by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts each week. Yet again, the HTC One remained in first place on both the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts, obtaining a total of 368 votes and 54 points. With a red variant now available in the U.K. and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean rolling out globally, HTC’s flagship smartphone continues to hold significant mindshare.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4 held the second place spot on the People’s Choice chart with 129 votes, while the Apple iPhone 5 remained in second place on the Expert’s Choice chart with 40 points. In a surprise twist, the Apple iPhone 5 moved into third place on the People’s Choice chart, displacing the Samsung Galaxy Note II with a total of 74 votes. The Galaxy Note II dropped to fourth place with 68 votes. Holding the fifth place spot on the People’s Choice chart, the Google Nexus 4 with 54 votes. On the Expert’s Choice Chart, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 remained in third place with 38 points, while the Samsung Galaxy Note II held the fourth place position with 18 points. In fifth place, the durable Samsung Galaxy S4 Active with 17 points.
